Walk 4 a Cure

Around 1,896 Australians are diagnosed with brain cancer each year, and approximately 1,528 lose their lives to the disease.

Despite advances in medicine, brain cancer remains one of the deadliest cancers, with around 80% of patients dying within five years of diagnosis. Survival rates have barely improved in the past 30 years, while significant progress has been made in treating other cancers, including breast and prostate cancer.

Suzanne's family knows this reality all too well. They lost their beloved Peter Hudson to glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer that currently has no cure.

More funding and research are critical if we are to improve outcomes and ultimately find a cure.

Please join us as we walk to raise funds and awareness, honour Peter's memory, and support the thousands of Australians and families affected by brain cancer every year.

Where: Meet in Roughton Park, Kirra (outside my office), and walking to the Rainbow Bay SLSC (approximately 2km or a 30-minute walk).
When: Saturday, 1 August 2026.
Registration: 10:30am.
Walk commences: 11:00am.

Please wear something in superhero blue.

We will have marathon bibs available so participants can write the name of the person they are walking for.

You may choose to walk for a loved one affected by brain cancer, in memory of someone you've lost, or simply to show your support for finding a cure

At the end of our walk, everyone is invited to join us at the Rainbow Bay SLSC for a free BBQ lunch.
