Our stronger Adult Crime, Adult Time laws are starting to work, but we know there is more to be done to reverse a decade of decline under the former government, whose weak laws left us a Youth Crime Crisis.
We will always put the rights of victims ahead of the rights of offenders. That's why the next phase of Adult Crime Adult Time will expand the laws against reckless and young repeat offenders.
If you breach bail, you will go to jail.
The responsible Ministers are working on the details of the legislation, but after listening to Queenslanders there will be three clear parts to the expansion of Adult Crime Adult Time:
We will create a new offence for breaching bail conditions.
It will apply to those who commit Adult Crime Adult Time offences
It will involve minimum mandatory sentences for those repeat offenders.
The new laws will be in place before the end of the year. Add your voice below to receive updates and hear about opportunities to contribute to the creation of these stronger laws.
