Breach Bail, Go to Jail

Have your say on the strongest bail laws in the country.

The Crisafulli Government introduced Breach Bail, Go to Jail to parliament as the next phase of Adult Crime, Adult Time.

Queensland will have the strongest bail laws in the country by the end of the year, just as we promised.

After hearing from Queenslanders, the largest changes to bail laws in Queensland’s history will look like:

Labor voted against minimum mandatory sentences for serious offenders who breach their bail, and revealed a plan to raise the age of criminal responsibility.

A decade of weak laws under Labor saw victim numbers across the state rise by 193%.

According to Queensland Police data, our Adult Crime, Adult Time laws have seen them fall by 9.6%.

We know there’s a long way to go, but we are continuing to deliver on our promise to restore safety where we live, and strengthening our bail laws is the next step.

We want to hear what you think about the changes we’ve introduced.
