Let's Review Seatbelt Rules

We the undersigned petitioners call on the Minister for Transport and Main Roads to review the government’s current policy on seatbelt penalties and fines.

We understand the driver of a vehicle needs to be responsible for children and minors, however we believe adult passengers should be made personally responsible for their own safety and compliance with seatbelt laws in the State of Queensland.

In the event of an adult passenger not wearing their seatbelt, or wearing it incorrectly fitted, it should be the adult passenger, not the driver of the vehicle, who is made responsible for the offence.
